Stopped in at Club Venus twice in the last couple of weeks during the day. I had not been in about a year. Since I was in the area, I decided to stop for lunch and see what had changed.

Most of the old gals are gone. VIP room unchanged..padded bench with booth with two walls extending out for privacy. You really can't see much of the other action. $5 wrist band for the day. $20 dances, but special during day Tuesday $10

Dancers vary more than before. One visit there was only one black dancer of the 7 there. Many still thick, but actually had a spinner or two.

Milage varied by dancer, and bouncer watching the VIP room. First visit everything was on the table. Second visit I was told the normal bouncer wasn't there and action was down, but takeout was offered after work. Not interested that day, but I am pretty sure it was no come on. Carla, the bartender told me who the gals I wanted to dance with. It just took a nice tip to get her on the right side. The bar is my favorit spot to sit. I still get all the action one could want, and can keep track of traffic into and out of the VIP.

No cover and free parking during the day. Drinks still extremely reasonable including $4 pitchers special while I was there. Unfortunately I don't drink beer. My Jack Daniels cost almost two pitchers.

Food is good. Nice sirloin steak, bowl of soup and good salad for under $15. Kitchen closes for a couple of hours in the late afternoon, but lunch or dinner is good value. I have never felt threatened in there during the day.

To sum it up. Better girls, same action, reasonable prices. It is not the flight club, but not Henry VIII either.

Club Venus is one of the holes in the Detroit scene. It never was fancy, but they used to have Feature dancers in the past to break the monotony of some of the least attractive women I have ever seen in the business. There are exceptions, but if you want big women, this is the place. If you want STD's, this is the place. If you don't want STD's, don't get lap dances there, just about anything still goes there, depending on whether they are being restrictive or lax. I stopped going there several months back, I doubt that I ever will return. Fortunately, I never got any diseases there.
