Two Sheds on Google Earth

Using the facilities provided by Google Earth, you can now view all of the strip clubs covered on my web site on a satelite map of Michigan. In many cases you can zoom in and zoom down on a specific city or club and see satelite photos of the actual streets and buildings. While viewing the club from the air you can click a link and read the TwoSheds.com page for the club.

What You Need

  • You need a computer with a broadband internet connection. Don't bother trying this if you're on dial-up, the graphics will load painfully slowly. See Google's download page for details on the the minimum requirements.
  • You need a computer with a decent graphics card. Most newer computers should be fine but older machines may not be capable of the graphics processing required. See Google's download page for details on the the minimum requirements.
  • You need to download and install the Google Earth software. It's available for Windows, Mac and Linux machines.
  • You need to to open the Two Sheds on Google Earth link.

Depending on what operating system you are using, you may have to do this in different ways. You may be able to open that link in Google Earth simply by clicking it. Try that, if Google Earth opens up and zooms you to Michigan and shows you a bunch of strip clubs, then you're set. Otherwise you may have to right click the link and "Save As" it to your hard drive somewhere. The file that you save will be called "twosheds.kml". Then you'll have to start the Google Earth program and use its File->Open menus to open the twosheds.kml file from your hard drive.

In either case you only need to do this once. If, when you close Google Earth that first time, you answer yes when asked if you want to save the unsaved places to the "My Places" folder, then TwoSheds will be there in that folder the next time you start Google Earth. Clicking on the top Two Sheds folder in the Places navigator will zoom you back to Michigan and all the clubs.

You don't need to worry about updates or new clubs that I add to the site, those will appear in your Google Earth automatically. (What gets saved in your Google Earth is actually a link to a program on my web site that keeps your Google Earth updated with the latest information on the clubs I cover.)

What You Can Do

Once you've opened up the Two Sheds on Google Earth link you will have a folder in the "Places" navigator that's on the left side of your Google Earth window. Inside that folder are all of the strip clubs that my site covers, organized by city.

  • If you double click a city name, Google Earth will zoom you to that city and show you the clubs located there.
  • If you double click a club name in one of the city folders, Google Earth will take you to that club.
  • If you click one of the "read more" links for a specific club, the Two Sheds page for that club will open up in a window in Google Earth. You'll see all of the information I have on the club as well as other folks' comments on the club. In this way Google Earth almost becomes an alternate front page for my web site.
  • You can always use the navigation tools in Google Earth to zoom in, out and around to your heart's content.

I hope you find this fun to play with. If you've got any comments on any of this, post 'em in ClubChat or send me an e-mail if you don't want to go public.
